Do I need to send my payment by certified mail?

No, standard mail is fine.
 
But, if there's an issue with the mail carrier and we do not receive your payment, there will be no way to track where it is. We don't require you to get tracking, but it is the safest way to send anything these days. Adding tracking to a small envelope, cost almost nothing and can be helpful.
